Team Spotlight | Vibhor Gupta – Global Delivery Lead

Every time we interact with our team members, we get amazed listening to their astounding career trajectory. This month, we are glad to have interacted with Vibhor Gupta, our Global Delivery Lead, whose career has been very interesting – from CA to ITeS!

A journey of learning, developing, and growth!

From the beautiful state of Uttar Pradesh, India, Vibhor Gupta is all about punctuality and perfection. He has had an extensive and extraordinary journey in his career, where he has transitioned and established new client engagements and transformed and managed end-to-end operations. For all the organisations he has worked for, Vibhor has consistently performed on the business goals and objectives while ensuring that P&L, service delivery, and financial and regulatory commitments are delivered well within time and as per the stakeholder’s expectations.

And that is not it – Vibhor has also completed his CA Intermediate course in May 2022, continuing his love for developing skills and learning new things. Interacting with him was super fun, and there are several fascinating things about him that we would love our readers to know about. Here’s an excerpt from our interaction with him – 

Question 1: Can you share a little about your professional journey?

Answer: Oh well, I started my career as an Articled Clerk (1999-2002) while pursuing my Chartered Accountant and continued to work with CA firms until November 2005. My corporate career kickstarted in January 2006 when I joined BPO market leader Genpact in New Delhi, India. Thereafter, I worked for some leading BPO companies -WNS Global Services, Infosys BPM, and currently with TJC Group. 

Question 2: Wow, that’s quite a journey! So, can you explain your role at TJC Group?

Answer: Haha, yes, it has been an interesting journey, full of learning! So, in TJC Group, I am the Global BPO/Delivery Lead. My role is to ensure that once the archiving project is over, the support activities performed for a client falling under BPO are delivered on time, well within the client’s expectations across geographies. 

Question 3: What do you like the most about your role?

Answer: To be honest, there is a certain amount of challenge in streamlining an IT project by guiding the team. In my earlier role, I managed the delivery of operations-related projects. Hence, this is new for me, which I like as it allows me to come out of my comfort zone and expand my horizons.

Question 4: What do you think are the key aspects of project management?

Answer: Project management may seem like a smooth task, but, in reality, it is pretty complex. Every project manager has crucial strategies that help them operate effectively. For me, strong documentation and a streamlined process with a clear communication strategy are the two key aspects of project management. And that’s how I manage my projects and team members. 

Question 5: Well, we definitely agree! Vibhor, a few years down the line, where do you see yourself at TJC Group?

Answer: Haha, that is a tricky question, I must say! While I don’t think I can say much, I would absolutely love to see myself managing a bigger delivery team at TJC Group with the best-in-class processes.

Question 6: That’s good to know! Can you say a few words about TJC Group?

Answer:  A few words would be difficult to express the amazingness of TJC Group but let me try! I think TJC Group is an organisation that allows you complete independence in managing your work and provides ample opportunities to learn & grow. The former i.e., independence in managing work without any micro-management is difficult to find; so, I am very happy to get it here. Apart from that, it is like a family here in the organisation – everyone’s supportive of one another, friendly, and filled with positivity. 

Question 7: Can you tell us about your life outside of TJC Group?

Answer: Spending time with family & catching up with friends. Also, of late, I developed a strong liking towards listening to podcasts on various topics. They are pretty intriguing.

Question 8: Ah yes, podcasts are interesting. Apart from that, what do you like to do in your free time?

Answer: Oh, I enjoy watching cricket, and movies, and visiting new places. Well, I absolutely am a big cricket fan. In fact, my daughters and I went to watch a match recently when the ICC World Cup 2023 was going on in India. It was a magnificent experience. 

Question 9: Some final words for our readers?

Answer: I am someone who believes in the power of ‘Self-belief’ The simple reason is that if you don’t believe in yourself, then how can you expect others to believe you? So, in short, my final word to anyone reading this is to have ‘Self-belief’ in whatever you do in life.
